To participate in the Duluth East Track & Field Team you need to complete some items listed below. If you were previously in a sport for the current school year, then you have filled out most of these forms already.

You will be expected to follow the Minnesota State High School League Eligibility Rules. In addition to the rules that govern alcohol and tobacco, you have to be academically eligible. You are in school first and foremost to learn. Track comes second to your education. Preserve your eligibility by good attendance, and getting your homework in on time.

 Duluth East Track & Field Eligibility Procedure

  1. Sign Up at the Parent/Athlete meeting or at Practice
  2. Complete and Submit ISD709 Online Registration once per school year
  3. Submit Physical to Activities Department (if not currently on file per requirements)
  4. Submit Payment via Infinite Campus Parent Portal.  Must be on the roster in order to be assigned a fee.
    $185 ($25 for reduced lunch, $0 for free lunch)
  5. Submit Transfer/Foreign Exchange Paperwork to Activities Department (if applicable, see below for details)
  6.  Track $35 Assessment Fee
    Make a single check for $35 to “East Track” with the athlete’s name in the memo line.  Please do not combine checks between siblings as they will be returned.   Return this to a head coach at practice.

TRACK $35 UNIFORM FEE
East Competition Uniform Tops will be distributed on the distribution days listed on the schedule.  The cost is $35 paid via check or cash when you pick up your uniform.  If you already have a valid uniform from a previous season you do not need to purchase a new one.  Uniforms from Cross Country may also be valid.

Please check with your coach if you have question about uniforms.  Solid black shorts (see uniform rules) are also required for track meets and can be purchased at a store of your choice.

IF YOU ARE A TRANSFER OR FOREIGN EXCHANGE STUDENT:

  1. Transfer students (were not at East last year) need to do the following:
    a. Provide All necessary transcripts
    b. Fill out the MSHSL transfer information form (Form F)
    c. CAN’T PARTICIPATE UNTIL CLEARED BY THE ACTIVITIES OFFICE
    does not apply to freshman if enrolled on the first day of school at east
  2. Exchange students need to do the following:
    a. Provide All necessary transcripts, physical, and visa information
    b. Fill out the MSHSL exchange form (Form G)
    c. CAN’T PARTICIPATE UNTIL CLEARED BY THE ACTIVITIES OFFICE
    Must be sponsored by an MSHSL approved Exchange program!

Refunds: Will only be given out for “special” circumstances (season ending injury, family situation, etc) and upon request to the Activities Departments. No refund will be given past the first track meet. A participant dismissed for a disciplinary reason will not receive a refund. Students who choose to participate in athletics must realize there are no guarantees regarding playing time or injuries.

Deadline for Joining/Dropping a Sport
March 24, 2023 is the deadline for joining East Track.  Anyone with extenuating circumstances wishing to join a team after the deadline may apply to the Activities Director. No student shall change sports after the second week of practice without the consent of each coach involved and the Activities Director.
