We as coaches also hold our athletes to our expectations so we must do the same for ourselves in order to provide the best experience and quality of coaching for our athletes. We will:
- Treat all athletes with respect
- Provide athletes the best opportunity to succeed
- Encourage athletes to do their best and how to win and lose gracefully
- Emphasize team development and promote good sportsmanship
- Lead by example
- Respect and support meet officials and other coaching staff
- Communicate effectively and regularly with other coaches
- Know your athlete’s strengths, weakness, and goals
- Maintain positive relationships with all athletes and coaches
- Maintain data privacy and all MSHSL Rules and Code of Ethics

If you have any questions, complaints, or problems, feel free to discuss them with a coach before going outside of our team. If there is an issue that we cannot help with, we can refer you to the best person(s) who can. As a member of Track & Field, it is important that you realize that your personal choices affect other members of the team. Discuss additional activities involving time and energy with your coach prior to your involvement to ensure that neither you nor the team is adversely affected.
