Saturday Meets

I do not recall ever having two meets in a single day so this is a new experience so we shall do our best in this non-perfect situation.  Please be patient and understanding if there are any issues.

Meet #1 – If you are in the Virginia Meet in the morning, please be there at 9:00 am.  Please make sure you get your Competitor Number from the Managers and write that number on your right hand.  You will present that number when you complete your event.  The lineup is open but please make sure there are no more than 4 people per event, check with the coach/managers for what you are running.  Also, if you are in the Packy in the afternoon, make sure you do not max out your events in the morning preventing you from competing in the afternoon.  The morning meet has flexibility but the Packy does not.

Meet #2 – If you are in the Packy Paquette Meet in the afternoon, please be there at 3:00 pm.  The Packy meet will provide our first Fully Automatic Timing this season.  Your times will be used to determine lineups in future meets.  Awards will be given to the TOP 8 finishes.  There are now fewer school in the meet which gives us a better chance of bringing home some awards.  Pay attention to the meet schedule or the announcer as the schedule may move faster with fewer teams.

 

 

 

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

NO MEET FRIDAY – Duluth Public Schools are CLOSED and all activities are cancelled.

The Packy Meet is RESCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY AT 4:00 PM

NOTE:  Do not park in the WITC Conference Center Parking Lot or you will get a parking ticket.  You can park in UWS Lots 13, 4 and 3 on Catlin Avenue, in the WITC STUDENT lot (across Mortorelli drive and behind WITC) or on Mortorelli Drive.

Due to the schedule change, events have opened up.  If you want to be in the Packy or do more events, please e-mail Coach Kinsey ASAP and we can get you in.  There is a deadline of 10pm tonight if you want to be added to the Packy.  5 per Event.

For those originally NOT in the Packy meet, you can remain in the Virginia Meet in the morning as originally planned.   There are limits of 4 per event and two relays for the Virginia Meet so if you can attend we can probably find an event for you.  You can e-mail nathan.kinsey@duluth.k12.mn.us and put in your requests a head of time.  You may also be asked to fill in for the available entries at the Packy Meet in the afternoon.

There are MAXIMUM EVENTS an athlete can participate in per day which applies on Saturday with having two meets, so please check the lineup and check with a coach if you have questions.  RULE:  4 Total Events:  3 Running/1 Field OR 3 Field/1 Running OR a max of 2 running events over 800m/2 Field.   Example:  you can run the 400m and Long Jump at the Packy and run the 60m and 400m at Virginia for a total of 3 running and 1 field.  

A Look Ahead This Week…

Monday – Official Team Roster Finalized – If you are not on the list, please consider joining the team in 2015.
Tuesday – Irondale Meet is CANCELLED.  Normal Practice.
Wednesday – Packy Meet Entries Due – Submit Absence online and notify your Coach if you will be gone.
Thursday – Sign up for Saturday’s Indoor Meet.
Friday – Packy Meet at UWS
Saturday – Virginia Meet at UWS (Those in the Packy may not attend this meet)
