Sections 2016 Schedule/Order of Events

Section Lineup will be available at Thursday’s practice.  We will not be posting this online until after our entries have been submitted to the MSHSL…so other teams can’t look up our lineup and know our strategy.

The 7AA Section Meet is at Grand Rapids this year on Wednesday, June 1st and Saturday, June 4th.  Please click HERE for the Order of Events and Time Schedule for both days.  Pay close attention to what events are scheduled for which day, especially for Field Events.  For example, Girls Long Jump is on Wednesday and Girls Triple Jump is on Saturday.  If your running event has prelims, you will run on Wednesday and if you make finals you will also run on Saturday.  The 3200m Run will be a final event on Wednesday.

If you are on the Section Team, make sure you have no other activities scheduled for these days.  Once our Section Lineup is submitted to the MSHSL we can only scratch athletes, not change or add.

On our Section Lineup next to each event you are in we will indicate “W” for Wednesday, “S” for Saturday, or “WS” for Wednesday/Saturday.

 

Hermantown 5/24/16 Meet

One bus will leave East at 2:45pm.  It will stop at Ordean-East on the way to Hermantown at aprox. 2:55pm.  Please make sure you have a STICKER with your first and last name along with East if you are in a running event.  Field events do not need stickers.  Relays only need one sticker on the last person with all 4 last names and East on it.  Please report your times/distances to the Managers are the finish line.

Tuesday’s Hermantown 5/24/16 Meet

Tuesday’s Hermantown Track Meet may be your last meet of the season.  You have all worked hard this season and hope you have met your goals and enjoyed the season.  Do your best on Tuesday and try to end your season with a personal best.  Open Meet Lineup Registration is now open.  Relays will be entered by coaches so see your coach for details.  Some spots for Sections may be determined at this meet so coaches may enter you into events.

TEAM VOTING FRIDAY 5/20/16 and ST. FRANCIS MEET

Team Voting is TODAY, Friday 5/20/16.  You must be at practice in order to vote and voting ends at 5pm.

The lineup is set for St. Francis.  Bus LEAVES at 6:30am so do not be late!  If you are traveling with your parents a signed travel release form is required.  Please turn this form in at practice on Friday and let your coach know so we are not waiting for you in the morning.  St. Francis will be sunny and 79 degrees so bring sunscreen and have lots of water.  Do NOT be in the sun before your races as it will drain your energy.

Captain Applications

Team Captains lead our team both on and off the track.  If you are interested in becoming a Captain next year and represent Duluth East, please see the link below.  Application Deadline is Tuesday 5/17 at Midnight.  30-second speeches will take place on Wednesday 5/18.  A backup day for speeches is 5/19.  Team voting will take place on Friday, May 20th.
