The end of the year Banquet and Awards Program is on Monday, June 5th from 5-7pm. The Banquet will be held in the East Entrance/Cafeteria area and the Awards Program will be in the Auditorium. Come join us to celebrate a great Track & Field Season! Athletes need to be dressed nice!
We are changing it up this year! There will be catered pasta with 2 sauces and caesar bread served at 5pm with the awards to follow around 6pm. There is a gluten free option available upon request, please email Coach Kinsey. Cost for each banquet guest is $10 and each athlete is $5. Freshman will bring their choice of bread to share, Sophomores will bring chocolate milk or water bottles, and Juniors will bring deserts.
Congratulations!
John (Jack) Thompson set a new school record in the boys triple jump. He jumped 43-02.00 at the Section 7AA Track & Field Meet at Cambridge on 5/31/2017. The previous record of 42-10.50 was set in 2000 by Isaac Spears at Blaine (State).
The girls 400 M Relay team also set a new school record. Natalie Peller, Baamlak Haugen, Kathryn Twomey, and Erin Teichroew ran 50.72 at the Section 7AA Track & Field Meet at Cambridge on 6/3/2017. The previous record of 50.84 was set in 1991 at Regions by Dede Saburn, Melissa Hansen, Melissa Nymen, and Jennie Swanstrom.
Please note that for Sections 2017 we are now leaving at 7:30am on both Wednesday and Saturday. Please click HERE for the official time schedule of events. T-Shirts will be available for $10 but sizes will be limited so get one when you get there. Only those competing on Wednesday will be excused from school.
The coaching staff would like to congratulate everyone on a great season! We hope everyone improved their times/distances, enjoyed competing and everything that goes along with Track and Field. Please remember to attend the Team Banquet/Awards on Monday, June 5th. This year we will have food first and then awards afterward. More details to come!
As the season is nearly complete we’d like to remind everyone to stay safe and healthy. Everyone has worked very hard to this point and we don’t want injuries to happen.
