Update – March 12, 2021

Welcome to the 2021 Track and Field Season

There are many things to be aware of before signing up for this exciting and unique season.

Track and Field is a Varsity Sport only open to students grades 9 – 12.

We will start practice on March 29th and will have a limited meet schedule. We are still working out that schedule. Here a tentative plan.

2021 Track Schedule

Participation fee – $185
Assessment fee – $20
Jersey fee – $35 (if you did not buy one in the cross country season)

Athlete and Parent Info Meeting: March 15, 2021 from 7 to 8 PM.

This year has many restrictions. We are extremely limited on the number of athletes we can bring to contests. If you sign up to be on the team you are not guaranteed participation in meets, although you can still participate in practices, according to restrictions. We do not have a JV team for track.

We will have split practice between 6:30 – 7:30 am and 3:30 to 5:15 pm at EHS. We have yet to determine practice pods.

If you are considering track, please make sure that you have the
East Online Athletic Registration form completed and your physical is on file at EHS before March 29th.

Season Update

Our sign up form will be available on March 12. We are pushing it back a few days. We should have further guidance from the MSHSL for our season by then. Our plan is to also have a brief virtual parent meeting on March 15 in the evening. More details to follow.

Track and Field – 2021

The 2021 Track and Field Season has a start date of March 29.  The high school season is open to students in grades 9 -12.  We will have lots of information posted on this site to get you ready for the unique and awesome season.  Stay Healthy and Safe.  Be ready to go on March 29.

ALL ATHLETES WHO TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID:

You will be required to follow the Return to Play Protocol. Your coach, the Activities Director, and our Athletic Trainers Jennie Koelling and Terry Hanson are here to support you through that process. You can find more information by reading the MSHSL’s guidance.

There can be hidden impacts on your body that may put you at risk as you return to play. Evaluating each student athlete prior to play is critical for their health and safety. It starts with an appointment with your physician before spending 7 days being evaluated by the trainers. Student safety is our priority!

Refunds

Refunds for our Track Assessment and Uniforms fees have already been refunded by the East Activities Department.

If you paid your $185 fee and are requesting a refund, please contact the East Activities Department to make that request. Please do that ASAP so it can be processed while staff are still working before summer break. Be sure to include your name, your athlete’s name, and Track and Field so they can refund it back to the credit card you used to make the original payment.
