End of Season Information

Great job to everyone who participated in Section Prelims on Wednesday!  We had some great performances, a lot of athlete Personal Records set, and even a School Record!

Congratulations to Lucy Robb in the 100m Hurdles of beating the previous school record 10.14 set back in 1994 with a new record time of 15.94!  Lucy also beat her 300 M Hurdle record set last year with a new record time of 46.14!

Section Finals are on Saturday so please make sure you are aware of the time schedule.  The meet may speed up from that schedule if there is rain/bad weather so be prepared to get wet as they WILL NOT CANCEL the meet, only delay it for lightning.  The Field House will keep your belongings dry.

Spaghetti Dinner on Friday after practice, ask a captain for more information.

Monday, June 3rd is our Athlete Awards/Fun Day at Duluth East Track right after school!  Letter Winners, Captains, Awards, etc.

Wednesday Dismissal Time – 9:30AM

NOTICE:  Dismissal Time for Wednesday’s Section Meet at UMD is at 9:30am.   You must GO TO SCHOOL FIRST to comply with district policy for attendance.  If you need to stay in school later as your event starts later in the day, that is fine as long as you are at UMD at least 1 hour prior to the start of your event to warm up properly.  Please see a schedule of events to find out exactly when your event starts.

Optional Practice Monday

Coach Visina and Coach Nelson will be holding an optional practice on Monday at 4:00pm, but may be there as soon as 3:30pm.

Section Meet Schedule

The Section Lineup is posted. Please see the official meet time schedule to make sure you know when you event is.  This is  a meet where if you miss your event, you are disqualified from all other events, even if you “were” advancing to state so be sure to know the times of your events.

Since the meet is at UMD, no transportation is provided.  If you need to stay in school longer on Wednesday that fine, just be aware of your start time.

SECTION LINEUP – Available Online and will be Announced at Friday’s Practice

Coaches have worked hard trying to figure out our team’s Section Lineup which is now POSTED ONLINE.  If you are on the lineup and CANNOT ATTEND please make sure you let us know ASAP.  Entries are DUE on Monday so we will NOT see anyone again until after the deadline has passed.  We cannot change the lineup once it is submitted as set by the MSHSL.

May 3rd is our tentative date for the Athlete Team Banquet.  We are leaning towards bowling as our social event to have fun and reflect upon the season.
